Del. Jay Jones considering bid for Virginia attorney general

(The Washington Post) Del. Jerrauld C. “Jay” Jones, a Norfolk attorney who is the son and grandson of local civil rights figures, is exploring a run for Virginia attorney general next year. Jones, who first won election to the House in 2017, has been discussing a possible run with fellow Democrats, six current and former delegates said this week. Jones confirmed their accounts in an interview on Tuesday, April 28.

Bennion, Knudsen in spirited battle for Republican AG nomination

(KTVH) In the two-man Republican primary for Montana’s open attorney general seat, both men are calling themselves conservatives – but that’s pretty much where the similarities end.

The winner of the GOP primary on June 2 will take on the winner of a two-person Democratic primary, in the general election, and Green Party candidate Roy Davis. Absentee primary-election ballots will be mailed to all registered Montana voters on May 8.

A New Candidate Joins the Race for Indiana Republican AG Nomination

  • Nate Harter, the Decatur County Prosecuting Attorney, announced his bid for the Republican nomination for Indiana AG, seeking to unseat incumbent Republican AG Curtis Hill, who is seeking reelection.
  • Harter was endorsed by former Republican candidate for AG Adam Krupp, who has dropped out of the race.
  • As previously reported, private-practice attorney John Westercamp is also running for the Republican nomination in Indiana.
